Appraisal

A well-appointed gateway incorporating fine sandstone ashlar, attesting to high quality stone masonry, together with early-surviving decorative wrought iron gates, which enhance the artistic design quality of the composition. The gateway, together with the associated gate lodge (22903006/WD-30-06), forms an important element of the Bon Sauveur Convent estate, and contributes to the visual appeal of the street scene.
