Terraced single-bay two-storey house with dormer attic, c.1830, retaining some early fenestration. Part refenestrated, c.1980. Now disused. One of a terrace of eight. Pitched (shared) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered (shared) chimney stacks, square rooflight, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills. 1/1 timber sash window to ground floor with replacement timber casement window, c.1980, to first floor. Round-headed door opening approached by two cut-limestone steps with rendered hood moulding over, timber panelled door and spoked fanlight. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.
This house, built as one of a terrace of eight identical units, is an attractive small-scale dwelling that retains its original form and character, together with important early salient features and materials. The house is distinguished by the simple decorative treatment to the door opening. The house, together with the remainder of the terrace (22828047/WD-09-28-47), forms an attractive uniform feature in the streetscape of Military Road.
