Appraisal

This lime kiln is of significance as an important historic and social artefact, recording a vernacular craft and tradition that is now lost. The original purpose of the structure identifies the technical significance of the composition. The construction in rubble stone serves to integrate the structure into the landscape, and the lime kiln forms an attractive feature in the locality.
