Painted rendered walls over random rubble stone construction with rendered quoined piers, c.1900, to ends. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, and rendered panelled pilaster surrounds, c.1900, having consoles. Replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Square-headed carriageway with moulded rendered surround, c.1900, having keystone, and timber boarded double doors. Rendered shopfront, c.1900, to left ground floor with panelled pilasters, replacement uPVC casement display window, c.2000, replacement glazed uPVC door, c.2000, and rendered fascia over having decorative consoles, and moulded cornice. Road fronted with concrete flagged footpath to front.

Appraisal

A well-proportioned house making a strong contribution to the character of the streetscape of Main Street on account of the robust rendered dressings and detailing, including a fine shopfront of artistic merit. However, the inappropriate replacement fittings to the openings do not enhance the external appearance of the composition.
