Terraced two-bay three-storey house, c.1845, retaining original fenestration. Renovated, c.1870, with shopfront inserted to ground floor. Shopfront renovated, c.1995. One of a pair. Pitched (shared) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered (shared) chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and 3/6 timber sash windows. Timber shopfront, c.1870, to ground floor with replacement fixed-pane timber display window, c.1995, in tripartite arrangement having elliptical-headed panes, timber panelled door, overlight, and timber fascia over with shallow brackets and moulded cornice. Road fronted with concrete brick cobbled footpath to front.
An attractive house, built as one of a pair (second house not included in survey), composed of balanced proportions, and retaining most of its original form and fabric, including small-pane timber sash windows. The house also incorporates an early timber shopfront that has been sympathetically restored without adversely impacting upon the historic patina of the site. The house is an important component of the streetscape, and contributes to the character of Main Street.
