Appraisal

A well-proportioned, modest-scale house, built as one of a pair (with 22805017/WD-15-08-17) forming part of a larger group of sixteen houses (with 22805007 – 16, 47 - 48/WD-15-08-07 – 16, 47 - 48). Although some of the original form and massing remains intact, extensive renovation works have not had a positive impact on the external expression of the composition. The house, together with the remainder of the group, is of particular importance as a reminder of the emphasis placed on social houses following the establishment of the Independent State. The house forms an attractive feature on uniform appearance in the streetscape leading into the centre of Kilmacthomas.
