Section of rubble stone weir, c.1825, retaining fragments of original sluice gates. Repaired, c.1950, with mass-concrete, and sluice gates replaced. Sited on Clodiagh River channelling waterway to Clodiagh Canal to south, and Cloadiagh River to south-west.
A structure of industrial heritage significance, having been built to channel the flow of the Clodiagh River to the man-made canal to south (22803063/WD-08-03-63). Although no longer in use for industrial purposes, the weir retains fragments of the early iron sluice gates, and continues to have a picturesque effect on the appearance of the river.
