Semi-detached three-bay two-storey house, c.1800, retaining original fenestration. Renovated, c.2000. Now disused. One of a pair. Pitched (shared) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond (shared) chimney stack, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on stone eaves. Painted replacement rendered wall, c.2000, to front (north) elevation. Exposed random rubble stone wall to side (east) and to rear (south) elevations with lime mortar and remains of lime render over. Square-headed window openings with stone sills. 3/4 timber sash windows with openings to rear (south) elevation now blocked-up with corrugated-iron. Square-headed door opening with timber boarded door. Square-headed door opening to side (east) elevation with timber lintel, and corrugated-iron door. Road fronted with tarmacadam footpath to front.
This house, built as one of a pair, is an attractive, modest-scale building of vernacular importance, as identified by the small proportions of the openings and the traditional method of construction, especially evident to the rear (south) elevation. The house retains most of its original character, together with important salient features and materials, which include unusual fenestration. The house, together with the second in the pair (22802003/WD-07-02-03), is an important feature of the townscape of Clonea, terminating the vista from over Clonea Bridge to the north.
