Single-arch humpbacked road bridge over Clare River, built c.1770 and widened 1820, with rubble limestone walls and roughly-dressed limestone voussoirs to parabolic arch. Bridge shows evidence of widening. Pedestrian gates set in wall near bridge.
Set in a wooded landscape, this bridge is a picturesque and notable addition to the surrounding area. The irregular form of the arch is a particularly interesting feature of the bridge, while the rubble stone masonry adds textural interest to the site. the evidence for a widening of the bridge suggests that the original structure is likely to be eighteenth century.
