Appraisal

This house is typical of a small country house associated with gentleman farmers of the nineteenth century. The classically-designed doorcase, fine sliding sash windows and widely overhanging eaves contribute to the building's distinctive character. The impressive outbuildings to the rear with pump and weighing crane contribute to the setting of the house, reflecting its continuing function as a farmstead.
