Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c.1830, having later hipped slate roofed addition and recent flat roof extensions to rear (north). Now in use as private house. Hipped slate roof with timber clad eaves course, rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Dressed limestone walls. Pointed arch window openings with brick block-and-start surrounds and concrete sills, having replacement timber casement windows. Pointed arch door opening with brick block-and-start surrounds and replacement timber battened door. Rubble limestone boundary walls having gate piers and wrought-iron gates to front and side (west). Set within own grounds.
Formerly a gate lodge to Crosshaven House, this building's location along the roadside makes it highly visible and allows it to contribute positively to the surrounding area. Though much of its joinery has been replaced and the building extended, it nonetheless retains much of its original character and form.
