Freestanding triple-arch road bridge, built c.1790, spanning river. Round-headed arches having dressed limestone voussoirs and rendered soffits. Springing from rubble limestone piers with coursed limestone V-cutwaters. Rubble limestone and coursed limestone block spandrels, having rubble limestone parapets over dressed limestone string course with upright limestone solider coping.
A substantial well-executed bridge sited centrally in the village of Crossbarry. The combination of dressed and rubble stone adds textural interest, and was obviously the work of skilled masons. Carrying substantially more and heavier traffic that its original designers could have imagined, it survives as a testament to their skill.
