Description

Triple-arch road bridge, built c.1840, spanning the Owenboy River. Rubble stone walls, having round-headed arches with ashlar limestone voussoirs. U-cutwaters to west elevations. Dressed limestone parapet walls with coping stones and pyramidal piers.

Appraisal

A highly attractive bridge displaying well-executed masonry best seen in the coping stones, cutwaters and voussoirs. The large volume of traffic that pass over the structure also serves as testament to the excellent craftsmanship and durability of this bridge, which was executed at a time when traffic was light and infrequent by today's standards.
