Single-arched rusticated limestone railway bridge, built c. 1850, carrying Cork-Dublin railroad over road. Rock-faced rusticated walls with cut stone string courses and metal parapet railings. Elliptical arch with rock-faced rusticated voussoirs and ashlar soffit.
Simple form typical of several railway bridges on this railway line. It shows evidence of highly skilled craftsmanship in its stonemasonry - rustication to piers finished with straight edge fillet to corners. Rusticated voussoirs given recessed edge. Enhancing and emphasising formal properties of structure. Heavy rustication gives impression of strength. Forms interesting architectural feature at busy road junction.
