Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1930, having 'SE' stamp with harp in relief and foundry stamp to base. Set in rubble stone parapet of bridge.
This cast-iron post box which is still in use is an excellent example of mass produced early twentieth century cast-iron work. The raised Saorstat Eireann (Irish Free state) motif is an important reminder of the changes that were made in post box design to signify Ireland's independence from Britain.
