Description
Pole mounted cast-iron post box, erected c.1950. Raised P&T emblem and panelling detail to main body and door.
Appraisal
Located opposite Bealnamorive Church and the former local national school, this post box was positioned to take advantage of passing traffic. A fine example of early twentieth century mass-produced cast-iron work, the raised detailing is of artistic interest, alluding to the Celtic Revival style and representing the continued promotion of a national identity.
