Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1880, with slightly projecting gabled north end bay to front, two-bay two-storey addition to south end of rear elevation and recent lean-to conservatory to south elevation. Front elevation has bay windows to ground floor, canted to projecting bay and box to south end bay. Pitched slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks. Painted rendered walls, with rendered quoins and plinth course to front elevation. Square-headed one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows with cut limestone sills, first floor having double windows and render surrounds. Bay windows have tripartite windows, with moulded cornices and string courses, box-bay window having chamgered surround. Oculus to projecting bay, having quatrefoil window in round opening. Tudor arch opening with moulded render surround, with hood-moulding, having overlight with quatrefoil detail, carved timber panelled door, and limestone steps. Square-profile painted rendered piers and boundary walls with rendered coping.
This Victorian house is representative of the contemporary penchant for Gothic and Tudor Revival architecture in a domestic setting. This can be seen in the use of such medieval motifs as the quatrefoil windows, hood-mouldings and Tudor arch doorway. These features also enliven the façade and afford the house a unified decorative theme.
