Single-arch limestone road bridge over River Dalua, dated 1825. Coursed tooled cut-stone walls having curved tooled stone copings to parapets, terminating in dressed stone piers. Elliptical arch with tooled cut-stone voussoirs and soffit, and having tooled cut-stone string course above arch. Name and date plaque to river elevation of south parapet.
The use of tooled cut limestone in its construction provides rich textural interest to this bridge and is clearly the work of skilled craftsmen. Aldworth's Bridge is one in a chain of bridges built along the route from Roskeen to Killarney in the early 1800s under the direction of the Government Engineer Richard Griffith.
