Appraisal

This ornately decorated house, located on a slightly elevated site overlooking the harbour, retains numerous Gothic Revival architectural elements. The eye-catching double-height timber canted bays with their numerous lancet decorations, are particularly notable and are also seen in other high status nineteenth century houses in the surrounding area. The handsome doorcase, timber sliding sash windows and red brick entrance are among the many original features which add to its picturesque charm.
