Terraced three-bay two-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1840. Hipped slate roof having rendered chimneystack and eaves course. Cast-iron rainwater goods and recent rooflight. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door openings. Timber doorcase to front elevation door opening having channelled pilasters, panelled reveals and double-leaf glazed timber French doors with overlight. Moulded render canopy with corbels to side (north-west) elevation, having replacement timber panelled door and overlight. Rendered enclosing wall having moulded rendered gate piers and capping.
Part of a terrace of fine houses overlooking the seafront, this house is an integral component of a group which was built in the mid nineteenth century when seaside living outside the city was growing in popularity. The building retains much of its original form and character and its facade is greatly enlivened by the retention of historic features such as timber sliding sash windows and handsome later front entrance.
