Detached double-pile three-bay two-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1860, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier building to rear, having projecting gable-fronted end-bay to front (south-east), three-bay two-storey return to side (south-west) and gable-fronted half-dormer oriel windows to front and side (south-west) elevations. Two-bay two-storey addition to north-east elevation of side return. Recent three-bay two-storey extension and lean-to to rear (north-west). Pitched artificial slate roofs, having hipped artificial slate roof to rear extension, with rendered chimneystacks, rubble stone eaves course and uPVC rainwater goods. Decorative carved timber bargeboards to front and side (north-east) gables and half-dormer oriels. Roughly dressed rubble stone walls with plinth, having rendered walls to rear elevation gables. Square-headed recessed bay to side (south-west) elevation. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls to side (south-west) elevation of lean-to. Rendered walls to oriels, having rendered sill band on rendered corbels with fluted decoration. Artificial slate hanging to rear elevation at first floor of rear extension. Square-headed window openings with render sills and roughly dressed rubble stone voussoirs throughout. Replacement uPVC-framed bipartite and tripartite windows to front elevation, having six-over-six pane uPVC sliding sash windows. Six-over-six pane uPVC sliding sash windows to side (south-west) elevation oriels, side (north-east) and rear (north-west) elevations. Twelve-over-six pane uPVC sliding sash stairwell window to side (south-west) elevation. Six-over-three and six-over-six pane uPVC sliding sash windows to rear extension. uPVC casement windows to first floor of rear elevation. Tudor arch door opening to front elevation having roughly dressed rubble stone voussoirs, raised rendered surrounds, tooled limestone step with cast-iron boot scrape and glazed timber door. Square-headed door opening to side (north-east) elevation of projecting end-bay, having recent French doors. Square-headed door opening s to side (south-wets) elevation having recent concrete lintels and uPVC doors. Round-headed door opening to rear elevation, having dressed rubble stone voussoirs to recessed porch accommodating internal square-headed uPVC door. Renovated five-bay two-storey outbuilding to north-east of house having central gable-fronted break-front bay to front (south-west) elevation. Two further outbuildings to rear (north-west) of house. Dressed rubble stone boundary walls with splayed entrance, comprising square-profile piers with single and double-leaf wrought-iron gates.
A picturesque late nineteenth century house which retains much of its Gothic Revival character, seen particularly in the Tudor arch door opening, oriel windows and carved timber bargeboards. While a building appears on the site in the first edition Ordnance Survey map, this building has a different plan and later character.
