Appraisal

This well-executed cast-iron fence provides artistic interest to the site of the former convent. Its intricate form contrasts with the solid and imposing form of the buildings to the north. The floral heads and scroll motifs add decorative interest and the entrance arch is a well-crafted and unusual feature.
