Terraced two-bay two-storey house, built c. 1935 as part of terrace of four, with box-bay window to ground floor front elevation under lean-to canopy running along length of front elevation and continuing through terrace, its hipped roof continuing to form canopy over door, supported by timber piers. Built as a terrace of four. Hipped slate roof with red brick chimneystack. Roughcast rendered walls. Canopy supported on box-bay window and on timber posts with panel detailing. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills and margined one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows, bipartite to box-bay window. Square-headed entrance opening having timber panelled half-glazed door, overlight and timber architrave. Approached by flight of concrete steps set back from street with site bounded by rendered walls with concrete coping surmounted by timber railings and having rendered square-profile piers to gate.
This house forms part of a terrace of four similar structures, whose style and intact form make them an unusual and notable feature within Fermoy. The façade is enlivened by features typical of its time, such as the box-bay window and canopied entrance, and enhanced by the retention of the timber sash windows and timber door. The site is given context and enhanced by the boundary wall and pedestrian entrance.
