Appraisal

Formerly located outside Mangan's Jewellers shop, demolished to make way for Merchant's Quay shopping centre, Mangan's Clock is a notable landmark in the city. In 1847 James Mangan was commissioned by Cork Corporation to make the clocks for St. Ann's Church in Shandon. The Mangan family were clock makers and jewellers in the city from the early nineteenth century to the late 1980s.
