Description
Detached ten-bay three-storey school over basement, built c. 1880, with gabled breakfront central and end bays. Pitched tile roof with rendered chimneystack. Rendered wall. Segmental-arched openings with timber sash windows. Round-headed and square-headed door openings with timber panelled and glazed doors. Flight of external steps leading to first floor entrance door.
Appraisal
Built as a group with the related school buildings to the north and east, this building forms part of an interesting group of related structures. Many of the buildings which occupy this site are representative of nineteenth-century design and construction. The building retains many interesting features and materials, such as the timber sash windows, external steps and exposed stone to the west façade.
