Terraced two-bay four-storey house, c. 1830; in use as a retail outlet with accommodation to upper floors. Pitched roof with rendered brick chimney stack and red brick parapet. Red brick façade in Flemish bond. Square headed window openings to upper floors having cills and soldier arches to window heads. Replacement timber sliding sash four over four pane windows c. 1920, all windows having guard rails. Remains of original shopfront to ground floor having dentil cornice, decorative consoles and incised pilasters with two pane display window. Modern double leaf timber panelled entrance doors, separate entrance to upper floors having overlight painted with house number. Street frontage.
Significant nineteenth century terraced building retaining its original scale and form as well as a roofline consistent with the rest of the streetscape. Although some features have been replaced, it retains much of its original shopfront and contributes positively to the street in terms of character and function. Important also due to its location on one of the main commercial streets of Cork city.
