Description

Terraced two-bay three-storey house, built c. 1800, now also in use as hair salon and with vacant retail outlet. Pitched tile roof with rendered chimneystack. Roughcast rendered walls. Timber sliding sash windows to upper floors. Timber shopfronts, c. 2000, comprising of fixed windows, timber panelled and glazed doors, flanked by pilasters having fascia and consoles above. Retaining interior features.

Appraisal

The scale and form of this house make a notable and positive contribution to the streetscape. Built on the site of the medieval city, many of the buildings in this area contain archaeological fabric. This building is enhanced by the retention of interesting features and materials, such as the timber sliding sash window and interior fittings.
