Description

Freestanding cut-limestone Hiberno Romanesque-style monument, erected 1903, by Joseph K. Bracken (1852-1904) of County Tipperary comprising cut-stone plinth, two-tier arcaded pedestal with plain and barley sugar columns, surmounted by carved limestone statue. Inset plaques to lower section of pedestal and low relief portraits to upper section of pedestal. Plaques inscribed in English, Irish and French. Celtic strap work to column capitals. Surrounded by cut-stone plinth with hooped railings. Erected in memory of the Manchester Martyrs.
