Description

Detached four-bay single-storey gate lodge built c.1905. The gate lodge is constructed in brick. The sheeted timber door is set within a square-headed opening. Window openings are generally square headed with a mixture of top-hung and timber sash. Some are set within canted single-storey bays with hipped roofs. The chimneystacks are in brick with slightly corbelled caps. The pitched roof is finished with natural slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods. The gate lodge is set adjacent but outside the gates of Mountusher House. Eaves are overhanging and the gable peaks have mock half-timber designs.

Appraisal

A relatively uncommon, well preserved early 20th-century gate lodge in the Domestic Revival style.
