Description

Semi-detached two-bay single-storey with attic house, one of a pair built c.1865, seemingly originally for staff of the nearby railway. The building is now in use as a private dwelling. The building is constructed in rubble with granite dressings to the openings, whilst the slated overhanging gable-ended pitched roof has a brick chimneystack. The entrance is to the south gable and consists of a replacement timber door. The windows are flat-headed and have replacement top-hung timber frames. Cast-iron rainwater goods. The property is situated back from the roadside behind a relatively long garden.

Appraisal

This largely well preserved railway or estate workers’ house of the mid 19th-century successfully compliments its semi-rural surroundings.
