Description

Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1880. The house is finished with unpainted render with block and start moulded quoins. The front panelled door is flanked by pilasters with console brackets which support a projecting cornice with a decorative fanlight; all is set within a segmental arch head with moulded surround. Window openings have moulded surrounds and are either segmental-arched or flat-headed with two over two timber sash frames. Ground floor windows to the north front are surmounted by plain block dressing and a fine projecting cornice. The hipped roof is finished with natural slate and cast-iron rainwater goods. Replacement chimneystacks have plain copestones with clay pots. The house is slightly set back behind a high replacement rendered wall with wrought-iron railings.

Appraisal

The house is in very original condition and is well preserved. It adds to the historic character of the streetscape.
