Graveyard with collection of lichen-spotted markers, ob. 1756-1976. "Enclosed", 1868. Set in landscaped grounds on a corner site with boundary wall to perimeter having rubble stone soldier course coping.

Appraisal

A graveyard representing an important component of the ecclesiastical heritage of County Wexford [SMR WX042-015002-] with a collection of markers signed by James Byrne (----) of Clone exemplifying the Irish Churchyard Sculpture tradition in County Wexford: meanwhile, further markers of interest include an obelisk-topped monument erected (1868) by George Arthur Hastings Forbes (1833-89) in commemoration of Joseph Underwood (1831-68) 'for many years House-steward to the Earl & Countess of Granard [of Johnstown Castle]'; and simple crosses supplied by the Pierce Ironworks Foundry (established 1837) or the Star Ironworks (established 1882).
