Gateway, extant 1902, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of cut-granite chamfered piers having lichen-covered pyramidal capping supporting wrought iron double gates with cut-granite chamfered outer piers having ivy-covered pyramidal capping supporting cast-iron railings. Now disused. Street fronted at entrance to grounds of Adamstown House.
A gateway not only making a pleasing visual statement in a rural village street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Adamstown House estate, but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate in the later nineteenth century.
