Description
Freestanding single-oven single-stage lime kiln, extant 1798, on a square plan. Now disused. Part repointed coursed rubble granite battered walls with rough hewn granite flush quoins to corners. Single square-headed oven below inscribed cut-granite plaque ("1998") with rough hewn granite lintel. Road fronted on grass verge.
Appraisal
A lime kiln representing an integral component of the industrial heritage of County Wexford. NOTE: A recent plaque (1998) commemorates 'THOSE WHO DIED OR FOUGHT IN THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM IN THE 1798 REBELLION'.
