Screen wall, extant 1840. Modified, ----, to accommodate alternative use. Now disused. Part repointed coursed rubble "Old Red Sandstone" wall with cut-granite coping to parapet. Remodelled segmental-headed carriageway (west) with cut-"Old Red Sandstone" block-and-start surround supporting red brick voussoirs framing fixed-pane timber fitting. Inserted camber-headed window openings in bipartite arrangement with concrete sills, timber mullions, and red brick block-and-start surrounds framing one-over-one timber sash windows. Quay fronted with granite flagged footpath to front.
A screen wall forming part of a self-contained group alongside the adjacent Bank of Ireland (see 15503008) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement overlooking Crescent Quay. NOTE: A drawing by Sandham Symes (1807-94) shows a suite of outbuildings servicing the Bank of Ireland including a coach house; stables; and a kitchen with larder and pantry.
