One of a terrace of four. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks having stepped (west) or corbelled stepped (east) capping supporting terracotta pots, central rooflight to rear (north) pitch, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hopper. Rendered, ruled and lined walls. Square-headed door opening (west) with concealed dressings having splayed reveals framing replacement timber panelled door having overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement uPVC casement windows replacing six-over-six timber sash windows. Set back from line of street with spear head-detailed wrought iron railings to perimeter.
A townhouse erected as one of a terrace of four houses (including 15502149 - 15502151) representing an integral component of the mid nineteenth-century domestic built heritage of Wexford with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact plan form; and the diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated visual impression. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior: however, the introduction of replacement fittings to the openings has not had a beneficial impact on the character or integrity of a townhouse forming part of a neat self-contained ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in Francis Street.
