Appraisal

The main entrance gates serving Hyde Park House (15402736). These gates are well-built using good quality ashlar limestone and were probably erected during the early part of the nineteenth century. A gate lodge formerly stood to the south side of the gates, now demolished. Although substantially rebuilt these gates retain their early character. This gateway is an interesting feature to the southeast of Killucan, adding incident to its pleasant rural location.
