Description
Entrance gates to Ballynagall, built c.1830 and altered c.1880, comprising two pairs of ashlar limestone gate piers on square-plan with ashlar limestone coping over, quadrant sections of ashlar plinth wall with wrought-iron railings over and wrought-iron double gates. Coursed rubble limestone boundary/demesne wall with crenellated coping over to north. Located adjacent to attendant gate lodge (15401214) at entrance to Ballynagall.
Appraisal
An impressive and imposing gateway retaining its early form and character, despite recent alterations, and forming part of an interesting collection of buildings associated with Ballynagall.
