Single-arch masonry road bridge, built c.1800, carrying road over a tributrary of the River Camcor in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom mountains. Dressed sandstone blocks to abutments with quoins of dressed sandstone. Segmental profile arch. Voussoirs of dressed sandstone. Dressed sandstone string course. Parapets of random rubble and coped with vertically set stones.
Aghagurty Bridge is located on the foothills of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, a picturesque part of County Offaly. The bridge spans a deep valley of one of the many streams running down from the mountains. It is well executed and detailed. As part of the historic infrastructure of the area, this bridge is of architectural heritage significance.
