Four-arch masonry road bridge, built c.1795, over the River Barrow at the border of Counties Offaly and Laois. Random rubble construction. V-cutwaters up and down river. Semicircular arch profile with squared rubble voussoirs.
Kilnahown Bridge is part of the historic infrastructure of the area. Its style is similar to Grand Jury bridges erected in the eighteenth century. It is one of only two four-arched masonry spans in the county. The other bridge is at Bridge Street in Birr.
