Description
End-of-terrace four-bay single-storey house, built c.1870. Fronting directly onto street. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered plinth and roughcast rendered walls. Timber sash windows with tooled stone sills. Segmental-headed door opening, blind fanlight and timber battened door.
Appraisal
This modest single-storey house compliments the other similarly scaled structures along the street. The simple and plain design is enlivened by the timber two-over-two sash windows with stone sills and the simple battened door. The retention of such features as well as materials such as the slate roof and cast-iron rainwater goods allows this structure make an important contribution to the streetscape.
