Appraisal

The simple form of this hall is enlivened by its ornate window surrounds and interesting corbelled chimneystack. Though these are fine examples of the technical prowess of local craftsmen, they are also in keeping with the unpretentious character of this building. As part of an interesting group of related religious buildings, this structure is of social significance to the community. Plaque over door reads: 'Young Men's Institute 1902 founded by the Rev. J.D.E. Newcombe B.D.'
