Description

Pair of semi-detached and one detached three-bay two-storey houses, built c.1875. Fronting directly onto street. Pitched slate and artificial slate roof. Rendered and red brick chimneystacks. Exposed timber eaves. Rendered and pebbledashed walls with square-headed window openings and single-pane timber sash windows. Round-headed door opening.

Appraisal

These houses form part of the former jute factory complex that was set up in Clara by Messrs. J. & L.F. Goodbody in 1873. They may have been in use as office managers houses. They add a domestic element to the collection of industrial buildings that are erected around them on both sides of the street.
