Triple-arch rock-faced limestone bridge carrying the railway over the river, built c.1850, with buttresses, and upstream and downstream cutwaters. Replacement plinth railings.
This multiple-arch railway bridge forms a dramatic group with the adjacent canal aqueduct. The execution of the masonry is a notable feature of this bridge, with textural variations created by the ashlar and rock-faced limestone. The upstream and downstream cutwaters create a pleasing symmetry.
