Description

Detached five-bay six-storey former mill, built c.1760, now derelict. Castellated parapets to gable ends. Roughly dressed rubble stone with some dressed quoins and cast-iron tie-plates. Limestone dressings to openings, with additional openings to lower floors. Red brick chimneystack and kiln to west gable.

Appraisal

This mill is an imposing and feature in the surrounding landscape due to its scale and form. The castellated parapets are interesting features of the building, as are the irregular openings on the lower floors. Though now in poor condition, the mill forms part of a group with the kiln and chimneystack to the west gable. The related outbuildings to the site enhance the setting of the building.
