Description
Segmental-arch road bridge over river, built 1860. Dressed limestone walls with ashlar voussoirs, impost mouldings and copings. Flanked by earlier medieval sections to the north-west and south-east.
Appraisal
The dressed and ashlar masonry used in the construction of this bridge creates textural variation and was executed by skilled craftsmen. Flanked by the medieval remains of an earlier bridge, varying construction techniques are immediately apparent in the old and newer sections.
