Description

Limestone wall built in two distinct phases running from Mill Street to the River Boyne, constructed c.1850. Lower section is constructed of limestone blocks roughly brought to course while the upper section is constructed of random limestone rubble. Square openings provide drainage from rear sites of buildings on Mill Street while cast-iron hooks project from the wall at regular intervals.

Appraisal

Well built limestone wall which would have originally bounded Trim's Old Gaol and served a more defensive purpose.
