Description
Detached five-bay single-storey house, built c.1890. Pitched slate roof with cement rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Square-headed openings with paired cast-iron diamond pane windows having central mullion, stone sills, and label mouldings with label stops. Shoulder and flat-arched door openings with timber battened doors.
Appraisal
This modest single-storey house has a high level of architectural and artistic detailing to the front façade. Embellishments include the label mouldings with label stops, and the shouldered-arch opening to the door. The quality of the design and detailing suggest that the house may have been constructed for an estate worker.
