Description

Detached three-bay two-storey former parochial house, built 1840, with full-height projecting central entrance bay. Cement rendered walls with raised quoins. Hipped slate roofs with terracotta ridge cresting. Singles, pairs, and triples of timber single-pane sash windows having lugged render surrounds. Render doorcase with elaborate pediment above. Canted bay window to east elevation.

Appraisal

The simple architectural form of this former parochial house is enhanced by the retention of many materials and features, such as the windows, internal shutters and ridge cresting. The render detailing employed in the execution of the quoins, opening surrounds and the elaborate pediment, adds artistic interest to the building.
