Detached church, built c.1835, comprising of three-bay side elevations to the nave. Side aisle addition and flat-roofed porch addition to east gable. Pitched slate roof. Roughcast rendered walls with tooled limestone quoins. Tudor-arch dressed limestone opening to west gable, and pointed-arched dressed limestone openings to nave with timber traceried windows.
The modest exterior of this church is in many ways representative of Roman Catholic church building in the first half of the nineteenth century in Ireland. The simple form of the building is enhanced by the retention of many interesting features and materials such as the Y-tracery windows and tooled limestone dressings. The church is set on the banks of the River Nanny outside Julianstown.
